1. Pack like a Pro

Nothing can be worse than beginning your new travel adventure when you realize that you have not packed your clothes according to your stay at the destination. 

Packing right refers to not only clothes, but you must pay attention to every travel essentials from charger/adapter to socks. Keep one cord and plug if all your electronics share the same charging device. 

Travel documents are important while travelling to unknown destinations. Before boarding the plane, you must have the right identification, ticket, and passport with you. Before heading for the trip, make sure to double-check if your passport has not expired. 

2. Arrive on time 

90% of stresses linked to air travel can be attributed to reaching the airport late. When you have check-in luggage, this becomes particularly problematic. You might feel bored while passing through the security earlier, but it is a lot better than stressing yourself in a long queue. Consider arriving at the airport at least 2-3 hours before the departure. If you are left with an hour, you can spend that in exploring the airport shops. 

3. Airport security

People feel very tensed when it comes to airport security. The security personnel would like you to pack sensibly. They will never want to find a knife, water bottle or an aerosol hair spray in your luggage. It is not all convenient to send you back to the line and definitely, you will also never enjoy doing so. To get rid of such uncomfortable and stressful situations, you need to be well prepared to go through security.

4. Search for your gate

Mostly the gates are announced 45-60 minutes ahead of boarding procedure over departure monitors. In case you are a savvy person, you can set alerts on your airline app so that will notify you as soon as your gate information is available. You can also follow the traditional method by going to the bug screens, search for your flight and its gate.  

5. WiFi

It is undoubtedly one of the most important features at all major airports – free WiFi. Some airports have set limits for 30 minutes usage while there are a few offer unlimited internet. When you have free internet, take out your cell phone and start researching about your destinations. Have you booked transport from the airport to your hotel? How far is the hotel from the airport? You can also find the most famous traditional restaurants and can plan a special dinner/lunch.

6. Airport Shops

Airports have all types of shop i.e., from chocolates, books, perfumes to sushi, you can find everything of your interest. There is no point to get bored during your airport stay. For book lovers, there are bookstores, where you can easily search a book to complete before returning home. You can also purchase snacks that can keep your appetite entertained during your stay in the plane.  

7. Airport Architecture

Airports were considered to be a boring place, a few years back. But these days, they have become just like public parks or skyscrapers to impress the passengers. Travelling is no longer about just catching the plane, but it’s all about creating an experience. More and more airports have started to follow this idea. Search for your travelling airport to check out what they are offering to the passengers. Some airports have terraces, allowing the passengers to see planes taking off and landing on the runway. Many airports have botanical gardens, while a few drawing inspiration from the city landscape and culture they are situated. 

8. Ask for help

While looking for something to do at the airport, you can get help from a staff member. You can ask suggestions about the best places for eating, shops, art exhibition and architectural features that can be explored. In case of any questions regarding your flight, make sure to contact an airline representative at the information desk. 

9. Take some time to relax

It’s a great idea to explore the airport, but before heading for a journey, it’s not wiser to get tired even before boarding the plane. You should lookout for a comfortable seat, and watch a good movie on Netflix to pass your time. 

10. Boarding the plane

Set an alarm on your cell phone so that when it’s 15 minutes of your departure time, you are notified to get up and head to the gate. Once you reach the gate, keep your boarding pass in hand along with your passport, with its photo page open. Once you go through this final hurdle, look out for your seat, fasten the seat belt, relax and then let the pilot take you to your destination.
