Organising your wedding day is one of the most exciting things you will ever do, and for many people it’s something that they have been planning their whole lives. Once you’ve met your soulmate and you are committed to spending the rest of your lives together, you need to come together and plan the day of both of your dreams. This is also a good opportunity to see how flexible you are with adapting your plans so that you are both happy. Inviting your friends to attend or play a vital part in your wedding is something that will take a lot of preparation. You can also buy linen and tablecloths for your wedding party.

There are plenty of ways that your friends can be part of your wedding day and we all know that your friends and family being there to share in your special day is what makes your day memorable and even more special.  Although you may have a big list of people you’d like to invite to your day you may need to consider your budget when putting together the list of people who will be there for the whole day. A lot of people usually invite their closest family and friends to the day which involves attending the wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast. This is usually because although this is the main part of the day where you will be saying your vows and legally getting married, it can also be the most expensive part. You need to think about the number of guests that you would like to be there and also consider that you will be paying for their meal during the wedding breakfast too. Many people then invite their wider circle of friends and their partners to the evening celebrations and this part of the day also has more of a party atmosphere.

Create invitations

Once you have put together your list of guests for both the day and evening, you need to think about how you are going to invite them. Sending out invitations is the traditional way to do this and can be done either by sending physical invitations in the post, or you could opt to save on your budget and create something digitally that can be emailed out to your guests instead.

There are plenty of fantastic suppliers out there who will be able to meet with you to understand your requirements and theme if any, and create the perfect invitation for you to send out to your guests. This will be the first taster of your wedding day that your friends and family will receive so make it personal to you, and if you are having a theme, then go all out and incorporate this into the invitations.

If you have a very tight budget and want to create something digital instead there are plenty of apps out there that allow you to create something yourself. If this is something that you really aren’t sure about you could speak to some wedding suppliers and see if they could create something digital for you that you could email out.

Create a wedding website

Something that a lot of couples like to do is to create a wedding website with all the details of their special day included. This is a great way to keep your guests updated with any amendments that may happen and would include all the useful information for your day. It would include any local accommodation, taxi numbers, and local attractions if they are travelling from quite far away and making it into a weekend or longer trip.

Inviting a friend to be your bridesmaid / groomsman

Choosing who you would like to be your bridesmaids or groomsmen is one of the biggest decisions that you will have to make, after the venue of course! Once you have chosen who you would like to ask to be part of the bridal party there are plenty of ways that you can ask them. This can be done by buying them individual personalised gifts that they can have as a keepsake, by creating individual personalised invitations or again if your budget is tight you could take them out for a special meal and ask them in person.

Inviting a friend to be a bestman / maid of honour

Being asked to be someone’s maid of honour or bestman is a huge honour so if you’ve decided who you would like this to be, then the next step is to ask them. This could be done in the same way that you ask your bridesmaids and groomsmen, by buying a personalised gift for them or again you could take them out for a special meal and ask them in person.

Inviting your friend to do a reading during the ceremony

One way that you can invite your friend to be part of the wedding is by asking them to do a reading as part of the ceremony. This is a huge thing to be asked and something that many people would love to do. If you want to make it more personal you could ask them to write their own words too.
