How to make your food delivery package last longer in three easy steps

As online food ordering and delivery apps like Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Foodora have grown in popularity, more and more eateries have begun providing takeout and delivery options.

Whether you’ve been doing delivery for years or you’re just getting started, it’s crucial that your food and drinks arrive at their destination in perfect shape thanks to careful packing. This isn’t always simple to do, especially when orders have to be loaded onto the back of a bike, motorbike, or automobile and sped all across town to meet strict deadlines. Here are three things to keep in mind when creating food packing that will last the whole delivery route.

  1. Pick the correct material.

This may sound like a no-brainer, but you’d be amazed at how many doorsteps are graced with sandwiches whose contents have spilled out of their packaging. Or beverages that have spilt out of their cardboard cups and made a sloppy puddle in the bottom of the bag. Determine what kind of disposable food packaging will keep your food just as fresh throughout delivery as it would be at the restaurant.

Takeout sandwiches, wraps, and burgers will look professional and stay fresh in kraft takeout boxes. Plastic containers that prevent water from leaking out the bottom are a good option for delivering rice, pasta, and other similar foods. Use PET plastic cups rather than cardboard ones for your cold drinks.

  1. Send in the troops.

Additional reinforcement in food and drink packaging goes a lot farther than you may expect. You may avoid having your takeout food containers’ lids slip off in transit by covering them in cling wrap or fixing them with adhesive tape. Drinks may be carried safely during the journey with the help of cardboard cup trays. Put the beverages in their own sealed plastic bag to prevent them from leaking all over your dinner.

  1. Consider Your Size

When ordering food for delivery or takeout, it’s crucial to use appropriate packaging. If a client receives a sandwich or wrap that has been squished into a box that is too tiny, they may be put off ordering takeout from your business again. However, if you choose containers that are too large, the food may shift about during shipment and will not seem as appetising to the consumer when they open the container.  Make sure the serving size corresponds to the quantity of food you are packing.

The meal presentation for delivery clients should be just as impressive as it is for dine-in guests. The bags used to transport your takeout wares, for example, should be lightweight and aesthetically pleasing. The convenience and environmental friendliness of kraft paper bags make them a smart pick.

If a client receives their order in an unappetising condition, they may opt not to order from that restaurant again. You should invest in packing materials for your food that you know will keep its contents safe and sound.
